A couple of tips on how to write well. I think I’ve probably said before, but writing doesn’t come naturally to me, so I’ll take all the tips that come my way.
Writefull is an app that gives feedback on your writing by checking your text against databases of correct language.
I’ve been using Writefull over the past week and it’s proper good. I love the “get words in context” feature. I also love that it’s cross platform and available for macOS, Windows and Linux. There’s also a nifty Chrome extension, if you’re that way inclined.
Certainly, good writing is more than just varied sentence length, but this is a fantastic visualization that makes an excellent point. It wouldn’t hurt to be able to see this kind of thing in our own writing, in an on-demand fashion while editing.
I really like this idea, it would be great to see something like this as a feature within the WordPress editor.
Don’t stop typing, or all progress will be lost.
I came across this app whilst reading a post by Jeremy Keith about content buddies. It’s a fun/frustrating tool designed to help you “shut down your inner editor” and concentrate on getting the words out. I like it.
