Today, I turned 42, and as all geeks know, 42 is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything, so I’m pretty happy about it.
As a birthday gift, Becky gave me a lock picking set with a transparent lock (this one). Lock picking is something I’ve wanted to try for a long time, so I attempted it straightaway. It took me approximately 30 seconds to pick the lock. **smug face**
Thinking that I needed a more challenging lock, Becky found me an old padlock to play with. This one took slightly longer to pick, I’m sure the springs had gone in the mechanism, but I still managed it in less than a minute. **super smug face**
Next, I turned my attention to the lock on our back door. This one proved slightly more difficult, in fact, I’ve not yet managed to pick it, but I’m thinking that this is probably a good thing. It would be a concern if an absolute lock picking noob could pick it with ease. **relieved face**
Once I’d finished playing around with locks, Becky and I went for a jog. I’m a few weeks into my couch to 5k training plan and today was my 12 minute Cooper Test. I managed a distance of 1.78k, which puts me at “average” in the interpreted results. Again, I’m pretty happy with this result, more so because I set 3 personal bests for 1k, 12 minutes, and 1 mile. **smug face returns**
