howler.js – Modern Web Audio Javascript Library

howler.js is an audio library for the modern web. It defaults to Web Audio API and falls back to HTML5 Audio.

It’s a few years old now, but I used this the other day for audio playback in a short animation. It worked well and was super-simple to work with. Note, version 2 is in development and is already under heavy production use, so it might be worth giving that a try first.
